In 1996 Chiel Warners finished 3rd in the World Junior Decathalon Championships in Sydney, Australia.  The following year, he finished 1st in the European Junior Championships in Slovenia.  Chiel Represented the Netherlands in the 2004 Olympics in Athens, and finished 5th.
